COMMODITY TRADING

COMMODITY TRADING

Univest Asset Management is active in commodity trading, the buying and selling of commodities. We are physical traders, where commodities are physically delivered under contract. Our involvement in futures and other regulated market techniques are carried out exclusively through registered traders and always to reduce or eliminate risk. We prefer to work direct with buyers and sellers or with the official mandate or representative of each buyer and seller.

We specialize in commodities where we work with serious sellers and buyers to secure a long-term relationship. Currently, we deal direct and are active in petrochemical products such as Russian D2 and Russian Mazout, Brazilian sugar and prilled urea of CIS origin. All trading of financial instruments is effected through registered bond traders.

Sources: Our focus is to develop strong sources of the following commodities:
Cement: OPC 42.5 N/R, OPC 52.5 N/R and SABS
Oil: Russian Mazout 100 and Russian Low and Ultra Low-Sulphur D2 and Jet Fuel. We are particularly interested in buying Spot D2.
Gold Bullion: We represent buyers and sellers direct.
Unrefined Gold: Owners of non-GLD gold may deliver gold to one of our partner refineries and be paid within 48 hours of delivery, pursuant to a joint venture between the owner of the gold, parties facilitating the transaction and Univest as Asset Manager. Our refineries are serious and issue honest assays conducted in the presence of the owners of the gold.
Rough Diamonds: We enter into joint ventures with sellers of rough diamonds who are prepared to bring regular deliveries of reasonable quantities of rough diamonds of a minimum size of 5-CT to New York. We are particularly interested in large stones. Univest will also assist the seller/joint venture partner in establishing bank accounts for the receipt of profits shares.
Sugar: ICUMSA 45
Procedures: At the core of our procedures is the provision of credible evidence of availability of product in exchange for proof of funds, with formal POP being provided to activate payment instruments.
